I wondered if an indian ink circle drawn on a coverslip might survive being covered in a diatom fixative I'm using (Debes). As expected, it didn't. The advancing film of fixative instantly dissolved the dried ink and smeared it out. Cool abstract result though, with a nice "film grain" texture from the particles of lampblack in the ink.
