Michal, Thanks. I'll be posting a similar rotifer later today. The "tail" is not part of the foot. The foot is actually folded up and may be hard to see.
To me, rotifers are like crows -- you never see the young.
A few months ago I saw a Brachionus quadridentatus with something wedged between her hind spikes. I thought it was som kind of trash and later I realized that was her young. Dang. Could have been a great shot.
