Sensationally good :shock: Can you describe a little how these pictures were taken please? The abbreviations at the bottom of the pictures are a little cryptic.

Thanks for the kind words. Those acronyms are as follow:

POL = Polarization (unless stated otherwise this is always transmitted polarization)
GTF = Green Timbers Forest - the place where I collected the sample
HF = Helicon Focus used for stacking. A, B and C refer to the stacking method.
DF = Transmitted Darkfield illumination

Hope that helps. The boatman was placed in a slide with a spherical depression to not harm it. Then it was a matter of patience and boatman-whispering to get him to lie still for long enough.

Wonderful shots!

If possible don't pass up the opportunity to do some high mag shots of the legs, there are amazing structures in themselves.

How many images for 10x and 20x stacks?

Thanks. Yes these are UPlanSApos.

Between 66 to 143 images depending on the stack.
