M Erhenberg's Research on the Infusoria

"In all young specimens of Nassula elegans which are neither too pale or too shrunk may be discovered a beautiful violet spot,placed at the anterior and posterior of the body etc

That's a lovely organism, John! It is now in the genus Nassulopsis Faure-Fremiet, 1959.
