Asparagopsis taxiformis

I found a small piece of this dreaded algae in my aquarium. Hope I can kill it off before it takes over again. That said, like all things evil, it is pretty up close.

The lower magnification shots work better when viewed in native resolution - which I unfortunately did not make available here. There is a lot of detail that is smudged / lost when resized down from 18MP to less than 1MP on screen.

Waldo, Very nice stuff. From my experience, red algae are toxic. There was red site nearby that I pulled sample from a couple of years ago and it was devoid of any other life.

Thanks. That makes sense. Not even diatoms stick to these algae.
