SumGuy1,
The best match I found on an internet search was Brachionus quadridentatus which roughly translates as "four toothed"

This is one I've not seen before either. Nice!

Brachionus quadridentatus does appear to be a good "match".

Thanks, all.
Just a note on the site of this pond dip. I've reported before on how rich this site was. It was a pond that is on a closed golf course that had a very rich stabilized ecosystem. It had been rich in desmids because the banks were covered with sphagnum moss. Many copepods, aquatic insect larvae and a broad diversity of plant life. My recent samples have been very poor -- not even spirogyra or hydrodictyon or desmids and I couldn't understand why.
The land has been leased to a farmer for a couple of years now to grow corn (maize, to you Europeans). The other day I saw a spray tractor on the fields and I suspect they are applying herbicide prior to planting their crop. With our recent heavy rains, I suspect the herbicide is washing into the pond, since I haven't seen anything with a chloroplast in it for the last two pond dips I've done.
