I am new to this and have been struggling to get decent images through the microscope. Here is one of some kind of lava from my pond. What do you think? Would appreciate any advice/ critique.

Hi, ironfists, welcome to the fold! Looks like you've found a chironomid larva, aka a bloodwoorm. That's a nice composition. I'd agree with Litonotus: the first thing to do is get your white balance sorted and the best place to start on that is with your light source. You'll need to make sure the white balance on your camera is set correctly, too. Take heaps of photos, experiment, explore and have fun!
