Very nice. This should be a Simocephalus; like other daphniids the first antennae are small and the second antennae are not especially enlarged, but the front of the head is box-shaped and there are no posterior spines.

Thnak you all for the ID and the kind comments. As many of you know, when shooting in darkfield you capture more clutter around the subject than you do in brightfield. Plus, when you shoot stacks, you get trails of all the moving particles around the subject, so I do a lot of cleanup around the subject using Photoshop and a Wacom retouching pen.
A few years ago an friend of mine who is a pathologist and coroner sent me a small bottle of Pen-Fix (a formaldehyde fixative) and I started recently using it to fix (kill) micocrustacea and rotifers and have found it to be very effective without affecting the appearance of the specimens.

Actinophrys,
What are you using for your reference material? I am using "Fresh Water Biology" 1918 by Whipple and Ward and couldn't even find a close match with my specimen.

I try to use a few different things, and I'm never sure what to recommend. For animals like these a book I've found handy is Aquatic Invertebrates of Alberta, which is available on-line here, though for groups that vary more from place to place it might not be quite as pertinent where you are. For Cladocera the CFB key here also seems like a good place to start.
