Dinoflagellate, help ID, Gyrodinium?

Post by carlos.uruguay »

This small dinoflagellate of about 28um (0.028 mm) length, perhaps without security Gyrodinium gender
Lives in the Atlantic ocean waters - La paloma - Uruguay - South America.
Protected with its armor, impelled by its flagella, nothing in the water drop.
I am grateful for any help in the identification.

Hi Carlos,

nice video!

definitely a species of Gyrodinium, but which one ?

I am inclined towards Gyrodinium pingue - but not a confident identification.

boa sorte e muito obrigado,

Brian
