File size limit

Post by Olympusman »

Resize the image so that the longest dimension is 1024 pixels. Then when you save the image, reduce the compression so that the final image size is 300 or below.

The file length limit is 300 KB. When you exceed that limit, the upload will be rejected and you have to re-save the file with more compression (lower quality) so as to get under the limit. If you're using Photoshop, then it's best to save your file using File > Save for Web & Devices. This retains better quality at any specified file size.

The pixels limit is 1024 on each axis. When you exceed those limits, the image will be resized automatically so as to fit within the limits. However, this automatic resizing often is not very good quality, so it is best to do the resizing yourself.
