Here a set of a mother water flea with her babies.

The following shows the complete (almost complete) specimen with dark field:

The following shows the head are with polarizd light, I think the mouth is where the black point is (the are looks like an eye):

This just makes me shake my head in disbelief. You are producing some of the best photos of Cladocera (water fleas) I have ever, ever seen!

Hello Rogelio,

Great pictures, astonishing, I fully agree with Jacek and Cactusdave.
I think the black spot is the ocellus(naupliuseye),see also the young ones. I think the mouth is much more below. It seems to me that the ocellus is about in the middle between the compound eye and the mouth.
It is clearly to see that the young ones have two compound eyes and in adults they are put together to one eye.

You keep amazing us...

How much time did it take to take all necessary images for such stacks? I mean there is great risk that the specimen will move, so taking about 70-100 images could be very hard.

Litonotus, sometime it was frustrating because the specimen moved; but I had to wait until it stay calm. I first took picture #4 then I wanted to take it with dark field but the specimen moved the babies to the back and side (as you can see on picture #1), while waiting for it to move the babies to the front I took picture #1, $2, #3. Yesterday I found other specie and I added some (around 12ml) of alcoholic drink and it did not move too much during the stack of the dorsal and ventral side.

I use 2 second self timer, sot taking about 100 images would take me about 3-4 minutes, that is a long time for the specimen to stay calm (;
