One thing I've noticed about the histology slides is that the quality of the captured image can vary greatly due to the quality of the sections, possibly due to variations in the thickness of the sectioning -- less clutter on either side of the tissue section.

Thanks, Pau. I've been accumulating histo slides for some time. I've found them on Shopgoodwill and bid on sets on ebay. The dog slides are from a veteranary set and the human slides were from a human pathology set. The preparations vary by the makers of the sets, but some of the sections are spectacular and some are very poor. The silver staining on the neurological specimens can be just right or so dense I've given up on some of the slides since I can't get a good image. The cancers are from a small set I found on ebay.

I agree with Pau; the first two, especially, are very nicely prepared and well photographed. Thanks for the background information, too--I never thought of these being available on the secondary market.
