Spirogyra

Post by Olympusman »

Spirogyra appears to survive most anything. The few pondwater samples I have from our frozen over ponds always have spirogyra and hydrodictyon hanging in there. I oxgenate my remaining samples with an aquarium pump and air stone every three or four days to try to hold them on as long as I can, and keep the jars in the window so they can get some sunlight.
