The hunting

Post by Marek Mis »

I somewhen managed to photograph this rotifer in the moment of cathing its victim. Unfortunately the quality of the image isn't so good because of relatively low shutter speed ( 1/80 s) and high level of noise (800 ISO).
It is a pity I had not any flash :(

Behavioural shots like these always make me smile. Nicely done.

I like it. Indeed, the chloroplasts (?) that appear to be ripped out of the protists body reinforces the mood that this is a life and death struggle. In this case, the slow shutter speed may have been beneficial to give the photo greater realism.
