Polarized light with retarders
40 X Splan Achromat Olympus


I took this photograph a year or two ago. Somewhen I identyfied it as some kind of rotifer but I am not sure if it was correct.
Could anybody help me with the exact identification ?

Good day
Your unknown is a rotifer called Gastropus stylifer. Please see my posting of May 25 2013.

I have only seen this colored beast once..freshwater stream.

You are of course right, it is Gastropus stylifer. I have immediately checked it in the internet to look at more images to confirm it :wink:
