Exoskeletons

Post by leonardturner »

A reliable stagnant water supply contained this materiel, along with a myriad of Aedes in different developmental stages. I believe the first image is the residual chitin of a pupal exoskeleton after the owner graduated to being a completed, flying mosquito. The second and third images, I'm not so sure; perhaps from one of the earlier stages of larval molting. All are stacked images, Zerene processed.
