Eutreptiella marine flagellated

Post by carlos.uruguay »

This small flagellated marine we found
in the Rio de la Plata, Uruguay, South America
Eutreptiella is similar to euglena but with a much more elastic body and usually has two flagella, one much longer than the other
It has a red ocular spot and feeds on light.
When the environment is not conducive,
it lost the flagella and enters in a palmelloid state..
In the video we see two processes
Objectives 40X and 100X, oblique light
