Since I recently received a number posts addresing sensor noise (a bane of Olympus digitial cameras at high ISO) I have made some changes to my setup. I replaced my f3.5 28mm OM series lens with an f1.8 50mm OM which makes far more efficient use of my field of view. I replaced my incredibly crappy Swift field condenser with an Olympus field condenser from a BH2 stand I bought for the focusing block for my insect macros, so it pulls in almost three times the light for shorter shutter speeds.
The lens is a Olympus A 20X PPL 0.40 160/.17 on a Swift M-330 Trinocular.
I had also been getting some background clutter, especially with my darkfield stops off-center for oblique lighting.
I blew out the photo tube with canned air and cleaned up my relay 10X eyepiece and am getting cleaner results.
