Newton Colored Detergent

Post by Ernst Hippe »

Hi friends of color,
A thin skin of kitchen detergent, viewed in makeshift epi-illumination, may show this colorful apple.
Achromatic objective 4x.

The Little lady has the head gear still in the cupboard.
happy memories? cold wet and can still remember the rain, tents leaked and the ground was hard.
and like all age we are both fading, and thats why your photo is so good.
nice one

Nice to hear (see) those positive reactions! Will the new hat come for Ascot?

Awesome shot :smt033

Could you tell us a bit more about the technicalities of your epi-illumination setup. Sometimes when I'm doing the dishes I get severely distracted by a detergent membrane in the dishwash liquid bottle and forget about the dishes altogether  I'd certainly like to explore this on the microscopic level!

bromodomain,
the light must come exactly from above. I use a cover slip, declined 45°, between objective and object - the working distance of my objective 4x is 17mm! So the strong LED light can come horizontally.
I'm still testing a better fixing for the cover slip, and I'll show this when I have the solution.
