Could you tell us a bit more about the technicalities of your epi-illumination setup. Sometimes when I'm doing the dishes I get severely distracted by a detergent membrane in the dishwash liquid bottle and forget about the dishes altogether I'd certainly like to explore this on the microscopic level!

the light must come exactly from above. I use a cover slip, declined 45°, between objective and object - the working distance of my objective 4x is 17mm! So the strong LED light can come horizontally.
I'm still testing a better fixing for the cover slip, and I'll show this when I have the solution.
