a living polyp from the Hydrozoa

Post by Franz Neidl »

Several days ago I found a blade of grass (Posidonia?) floating in seawater plankton. When I was looking it nearer I found more than 10 polyps on it.

In my picture you see a Gastrozoid Polyp (maybe from Obelia geniculata).

Thanks Franz,

You are bringing the Mare Tirreno to those of us who can't be there to collect plankton ourselves on the Costiera (and get cafe freddo afterwards).
