Midge eggs

Post by Olympusman »

One end of my golf course pond dip is rich in midge larvae including bloodworms. I have found a number of strings of midge eggs, possibly Chironomidae. They are encased in a mucus/gelatin like sleeve. Most of the strings are very dirty, covered with sediment particles, but this one was very clean.
