The rotifer Notholca acuminata in a video

Post by myriophyllum »

Hi,

i'd like to present a video and some images of an elegant rotifer.
It was found in a fountain (Kraterquelle, Bad Nenndorf, Germany).
I think it's Notholca (N. acuminata?).

The video:

And some stills:

Technique: Zeiss Standard 18; Kondensor Achr.-Apl with top lens 0.9 or 1.4 Oil;
Neofluar 16/0.4; S-Kpl 16x/12.5; relay lens 63mm (0.25x); DSLR.

Illumination: Darkfield and my sCol (asymmetric Rheinberg/Col Mixture,
as I once described here).

All Your comments are welcome!

Greetings

Jens

It really is an "elegant " rotifer. Darkfield illumination really shows it off nicely.

Hi Charles,

yes, that's why I didn't use the Rheinberg scenes here, DF works better this time.

Greetings

Jens
