Insect pupa

Went to the grandparents-in-law's house by the lake, and I always bring back a sample.

I'm guessing mosquito pupa, but I'm open to better suggestions.

I'll vote for aquatic bug, maybe Notonecta?

You're right; this should be a mosquito pupa. Note the two "horns" which are used for breething air from the water's surface! Nice pictures!
