Coprinopsis variegata gill surface

Post by lkudzma »

This is a no coverslip 250x super macro of the gill surface of the mushroom Coprinopsis variegata. The spores are still in bunches on the basidia and the protruding pleurocystidia are standing tall. The gill surface dried and shriveled a minute after the shots.

Olympus LWD CDPlan 20 on my Zeiss Universal. Stack of 6 shots illuminated from below.

Hi Linas

This is exactly what I am trying to photograph. See here http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... hp?t=27910

Please could you tell me more about your set up and how you acheived this magnification?

Thanks in advance for your help.
