There are many species of diatoms that form tubes. Charlie had a nice series recently. This is another species. Tubes are a great way to travel but the coverslip can cause major traffic jams.

I have moved to a new computer and tried to reorganise my rather disorganised archive. And in the meantime I have tried to enjoy the spring bloom of diatoms. For convenience and speed I have exported this image from lightroom but I think with photoshop I could have created a more crisp sharpness.
