Euplotes, probably E.eurystomus

Post by carlos.uruguay »

We have already filmed many times to the ciliate euplotes.
It is a ciliate which seems covered in armor.
With gross 'hairs' called cirri.
The quantity and distribution of them characterize each species.
In this case, we assume that it is Euplotes eurystomus.
Large size, some 125um in the video.
A wide mouth that reaches almost 2/3 of its body.
A a 3 shaped macronucleus, which we pointed out in the video.
We are grateful to Bruce Taylor:
The friend Francisco booming:
And to all the colleagues amateur microscopists
of de and
without whom these videos would not be possible
