Aiptasia in full colour fluorescence glory

Post by pwnell »

I have photographed a tentacle of an Aiptasia polyp with UVA/Blue excitation, and capturing the Green/Red fluorescence separately from the blue fluorescence, then overlaying the two.

In this photo, the red dots are zooxanthellae - symbiotic algae, the green band is an absence of zooxanthellae showing the inner structure of the tentacle, and the blue is the sheath covering the tentacle I believe.
