ID help please

Post by TonyB »

Hi,

wondered if anyone could help with an ID of this organism I found in my local freshwater pond. I estimate the size at about 100um.

I seem to have a bit of dirt on the lens train - if anyone has a preferred method for lens cleaning I would appreciate a few pointers.

Thanks

I find it easiest to use a bertrand lens and isolate the dirt.

Thanks for the information Charles and pwnell.

Seems that a Taxonomy guide is pretty useless if you mistake a bundle of cilia for a flagella and spend all your time looking in the wrong section of the guide. :?

Also I hope that the images I get are a bit better after a good clean.

Again thanks for your help.
