Did you know, the bristles of a fly are groved?
I tryed the L.W.D. Lens Carl zeiss Jena planapochromat 16x/0.20 without realy looking for my setup. The tubelength wath reduced to 130 mm and no tubelens insttalled. Instead the B&L ocular 10x was still sitting in there.
The working distance was almoust 15 mm.
Edit: exchanged foto for a manualy cleaned one

Hi Len,
yes there is some automation and it will be a good 1.st may-exercise to clean up the mess around "UFOMI" and make a portrait for you.
A few weeks from now i am working with a PC-controlled setup driven by a stepping motor. The largest manual stack i made was 190 frames. Using the automated mode it is more fun to run experiments. I did one 460 frames lately. You can do some other work in the meantime.
The main advantage in the automated mode is precision . Naturly you can reach this also manualy but i find it sort of boring.
Will post some fotos later.
