i'm back, for now

Post by Simon W »

Hi Everyone, remember me? I've had a rather long absence, due to illness (anxiety, work-related). I just couldn't keep up my learnings with this hobby, as anxiety/depression and its symptoms don't combine well with the incredibly exacting discipline of this hobby!

After a large break, I'm ready to try some more pictures, so forgive my first efforts to come tomorrow or the next day! Really good to see everyone still here and the beautiful images being produced virtually every day.

So I still have my trusty BH-2, always knew I'd get back to the hobby, what an investment that was!

See you around.

Simon

Welcome back! World around us is not fixed. Everybody have their own Universe because we create it in our brain. So every one of us can change the World! Knowing that fact, make yours beautiful :) (I have to remind myself often about this Fact)
Godspeed!

Thanks chaps, nice to be back. Yes the hobby will keep me distracted from things that still haunt me.

I need to change my signature too, can't wait to mount my full frame sensor- bought an EOS 5d mk iii, a superb camera and finally the perfect size for the extension tube.

And here is my first pic for almost 2 yrs. only a first 'lazy' attempt but I'm very happy with it. Used a new remote shutter release, eBay is so handy.

27 images with Zerene, but I didn't edit any of them for focus fine tuning. Externally lit via Ikea, an Autumn leaf superglued to mount. 2 power objective to my big fat full size sensor.

Thanks Rogelio, I'm already enjoying the editing process again. Here's the first image, but sharpened considerably in photoshop, as well as a second 10 times image with 17 frames carefully edited within Zerene to remove reflections. I now see why Charlie uses those golf balls to minimise those! It's very time consuming.
