I can see the resemblance. Crystals are like clouds in the way you can see different things in them. And everyone has there own interpretation.

No, the first two are clearly aerial shots over volcanic mountainous terrain :wink:

Nice!

Are you using oblique polarized brightfield here? (especially on last three).

1,2,4,5 are DIC with Olympus 20x LUCPLANFL RC2 on Reichert Diastar with DIC condenser. I removed the 1.40 NA top lens and put a .90 NA top lens and use the 40x DIC prism with this objective. The RC2 is a relief contrast objective and not intended for DIC but I think it works well. Its got an added benefit of correction collar from 0-2mm cover slip.

All other photos(except the last) are 40x DL phase contrast on a Nikon Fluophot with an oblique stop. The last is Nikon 20x DL phase.
