I have moved house last year, outside the city. In front of my small apartment there is farmland (a small patch since the Netherlands is rather densely populated). There were some pools of water in the grass that seem to be rather permanent during the cold season. I think they will dry out in summer. And than the cows will be back. They were very rich in microbes. I was actually a bit surprised. Many different types of Euglenas, chrysophytes, ciliates, rotifers. Perhaps the water is not that special. Perhaps the organisms are rather common. But it is so nice ot have a good source so near. Less than 50 meters.

50 meters, what luxury. You can do that on your sloffen
Great to see Berkel is growing on you.
Don't you miss busy Rotterdam?

Those Bursaria are so big, and you are so close you could probably do them with a good long telephoto lens from your window!
