They are all splendid...#1 is nearly perfect, as a detailed record of the organism (it is a Vaginicola, though).
I often see cyanobacteria growing in Arcella tests, and always wonder how it affects their prospects for surviving and reproducing. Is this an adaptive strategy, a benign accident or a simple blunder?
I suppose they're safe from Nassula, at least.
