The top image is about mid way down the midges body, segment areas and the gut shown. The massive amount of what appears like bubbles, I have no idea as to what they are or their function.

The bottom image is of the tail section, also shown in my previous post on this midge ( Heads n' Tails, Another Worm ) but was more focused on the hair structure, here in this image the anus and a few other internals can be seen. In other words, less hair...more butt!

It is a strange midge larva because it has no legs.

I noticed that too Wim and there are really no seta to be seen at the sements either. I suppose swimming is accomplished by the whip-like movements of the larva with maybe some help from hairs or seta at the tail.

I was surprised that the details came out as good as they did at 100% there Bruce, considering that the DSC-P200 is your typical point and shoot type of camera. Thanks again there Bruce
