Radiolaria

This is a Photoshop composite of 20 Radiolarians. Each Radiolaria was photographed as a stack of about 60 photos with a 40/0.75 Plan Fluar PC objective under brightfield illumination. These stacked images were then combined into a slightly more interesting arrangement than the grid pattern they are in on the slide itself. Lastly, I made the image a bit less dull by applying a simple filter. The Radiolarias were mounted to deep to produce very sharp, high contrast images so this was done to create some impact.
