but so are big fat SPIDERS! Especially when seen through a stereomicroscope.
Actually this little arachnid is not all that big, compare it to the leaves of moss in the first image.
Springtails are not the only things in the moss...

Yes, it was a quite cooperative little arachnid, didn't move around a whole lot but it had its eyes on a tiny plump yellow Springtail, so I poked at both of them with a dissecting probe and the went their opposite ways. I looked again later for both but they were gone. I have a sad feeling as to where the little Springtail went.
