Chaoborus - winter time 'plan B'

is getting cold here and it will be extremely hard to find something fresh to watch during next 3-4 months /: one way is to try to keep alive what I already have in my samples the other is to buy living fish food like Chaoborus or Daphnias (not found in my town yet...)

Is this "normal" DIC or have you added any other compensators? It looks like a mix between DIC and crossed polarization

I did not change anything, this is E600 DIC system with the Senarmont polarizer, and indeed, it gives very strong polarizing effect. I tried to look at some chemicals and if I set the condenser prism or slider off center it sometimes works almost like polarization with retarders.
