a Trochophora larva?

Post by Franz Neidl »

I think this is a marine Trochophora larva from a Polychaeta. Am I wrong?
The larva was 190 µm broad.

hello Franz,

I am glad to see you back with your fantastic marine plankton photos.

I would be 99% certain that you are correct = a Polychaete trochophore.

But what type of polychaete? Now I am much less certain, but I would guess a serpulid worm (eg Pomatoceros or Serpula).

thank you for posting - and please keep them coming!

regards
Brian
