Post by Walter Piorkowski »

Leitz Ortholux microscope
4X Leitz projection eyepiece plus 1/3x relay lens

Leitz 4 X Plan Fluorite Achromat objective
22 images at .002 inch increments.

Diffused Fiber Optic illumination
Canon 50D
Zerene and Photoshop processing.

To my eyes the Lynx female is one of the most fierce looking of all the spiders that I have imaged. The eye placement is quite distinctive and helps define the species. This image nicely shows all eight eyes. I believe is Oxyopus scalaris.
