Hello together,
I am from Germany, my english isnt verry good, sorry.
I would like to show you, that it is possible, that you can make with a minimal equipment this pictures.
I have an old Lomo Biolam Microscope and a simple selfmade-diffusor. My Camera is a Pentax *ist DL

Edited to add: in English, the Chaoboridae are "phantom midges".

Oh my goodness.....thx Charles for your answer, it feels for me like an accolade.
I told my husband, that it would be very great, to receive an answer from Charles Krebs.
It is so good, that my husband speaks better english than me :D
I would like to show the people, that it is posible, to make some pictures like this with a low budged-equipment.

The scorpionfly has a hitchhiker -- underside of the leg, on left side of photo. :)

Welcome, what an entrance, quite some first post.
These are very good. Nice to see what an old Biolam is capable of.
I like to use an old Lomo 3.5 plan. Can you show us a picture of your setup?

Welcome! Whilst equipment certainly help, I have always believed it is the person behind the camera that makes a great image. Excellent set.
