Is that an algae it ate? Did it somehow bit it off at the end or just drew itself on it? What if it were even longer than that?

Thanks for the comments

The ingested strand is the cyanobacteria Occilatoria.There is also a rotifer in a vacuole. Lord knows what would happen if the strand were any longer. The beast is obviously very elastic.
