strange water flea

Post by Litonotus »

I have never seen such one. it was very big and long (unfortunately there was only one in my sample) and had different arms with many 'fingers', more than common water fleas like daphnia sp. does anybody know the ID?

Hello Litonotus,

These are very nice pictures of Sida crystallina. It is a female, not adult because there are no eggs inside. Adult females can be 1.8-4mm.

Regards,
Clado

Wonderful focus on these images, and I can't stop admiring that eye. :)

I have no idea what it is though. Nothing new there, I never know what these things are. LOL
