photo #2 is excellent! Great improvement. My one critique would be the noise which could be fixed very easily with a good noise reduction program.

Yeah I have reduced it a lot with Lightroom but I underexposed the photo by 2 stops due to the magnification requirements and trying to stop motion. With more post I can reduce the background noise more.

It sure looks good to me. I didn't notice the noise until it was pointed out. Keep having fun!

I agree with the others #2 is excellent.

The second picture is very nice indeed, right up there. I use Topaz DeNoise5 plugin for Photoshop for noise reduction, but lots of good options, including free ones are available.
