huge water flea - Simocephalus vetulus (2 images added)

I found it yesterday, it was very big, about ~2mm, much bigger than all other I have ever seen

That's a big flea! Great contrast and detail. A couple of those and I'd have a good meal... Where do you find all of these water fleas? I have yet to see one.

here is my current collection:

(there is an error in my description - last two names are mixed...)

first two were found in a park pond, the 'fatty' comes from a little pond from our botanic garden, and the last one comes from a forest water sample. I'm trying to be prepared in case of a chance to take a sample (:
