Polarized light with retarders
40 X Olympus splanachromat
NFK 2,5 X

The image is not enough sharp because of motion of the specimen. I had to set 400 ISO and my Pentax K10 D produces quite big noise.

Interesting effect. I like how the vertical spines are yellow in this lighting. I think it looks good as it is but you could recover some details with sharpening and noise reduction.

Thank you for your comment. If about improving quality of this image I've just done it - sharpening :) . I didn't do noise reduction indeed, but I think it would not improve this image which quality is generally not enough good. But I liked the colours in it so I've decided to show them. It generally should be taken with the flash but I haven't used it in my microscope yet.
