I have been too silent but that is because I had quite a lot of work. At the moment I am wrestling with my image archive. I have difficulty getting it organised. I don't take new pictures until I have it all organised.

But I use a jungle knife now and cut my way through the undergrowth!
So no new postings for me, Except some dirty old pictures I found while archiving
They are of the naughty bits of spiders. There goes my reputation (what was left of it)

This is the pedipalp of a male Dysdera crocata. It is a primitive six-eyed spider that hunts woodlice. I also have a (3D) picture of this spider here:
http://home.tiscali.nl/~t936927/gal/2/index.html Bottom right image.
The pedipalp is a secondary reproductive organ, a modified palp, but I am not sure if I am allowed to explain how it works. But you can see the coiled tube it uses to inseminate the female spider.
Polarised light, 6X objective.
