Vorticella With No Stalk - Video

Post by Mitch640 »

Found in an hours old rain puddle beside the road. Not a place that stays wet. The road was still wet, and this puddle would disappear in hours.

Just goes to show how tenacious life is.

The video link.

Mirch,

Good that you are finding specimens. I have not seen that kind of specimen.

Thanks Rogelio. I have seen one other vorticella, when I first got the Fluophot, that dropped his stalk while I was watching and swam away. Apparently it does not happen often.
