Male Phthorimaea operculella adult, common name: Potato Tuber Worm

I am always amazed at the complexity of insect genitalia and how seldom it is bilaterally symetrical. The scales have been removed (the fine stubble on the sheath are the attachments for the scales). Cleared with KOH.

WOW, I didn`t even think you could do that :shock: Remarkable photos Steve. It does look very complicated in structure.
