Amoeba infected

Post by fpelectronica »

Hello
In this video we see what was thought for some time was a new amoeba Ouramoeba, http://user.xmission.com/ ~ psneeley/Personal/Fwr09P.htm
Subsequent studies verified that it was amoeba Chaos, Proteus .. infected by a fungus that parasitizes these amoebae, in particular the fungus Amoebophilus

In the world of microorganisms are always things to learn and surprise

Hi Francisco,

This is not a Chaos or Amoeba proteus, but more likely Polychaos dubium. I have seen this amoeba often with fungi.
