waterbear image sets

Post by Litonotus »

Today I decided to take some water from a very old (almost half a year) sample (it is still too cold here to get something good), and I found a waterbear (: I took me some time to get it out of dirt but finally I was able to take some images.

all images taken with the universal filter and PZO plan 20 and PZO achromat 40x objectives.

I'm looking for the the extemely rare V-IM magnification changer for the E800 scope. If you have seen a listing or have one for sale please let me know.

Very nice shots of a very active subject. These are always great fun to watch, but usually frustrating to photograph.

thank you (:

It wasn't moving very fast so it was possible to shot, but no chance of making a stack...

the filter works really good indeed (:

Very nice set of images. Just the other day I was looking for another of these. In a year and a half, I have only found one. Doing some research, I found two mentions of how common water bears are. One said that only 1 in 170 slides yields a bear, the other only 1 in 190 searches. I don't feel so bad now. LOL

thank you (:

I think the sample matters. I found two in one slide but it was hard to get them out of the dirt... and I think that is the biggest problem here.
